Christmas of 2008

Okay, so it's not a frilly and blank looking at some scrapbooking, or as fancy, but I like to use my own photography when doing stuff like this, so here is a few scrapbook pages for our 2008 Christmas. I know it's a bit late, showing them, but I just started the scrapping part. Haha.. anyways. I wanted to share!

Cadence...

My niece Cadence Willow Grace was born Dec. 5th, 2008. I had the chance to get some photos of her before coming back home. This is my favorite photo of her!! It's my favorite portrait to date, of my work. She was only about three weeks old here.

Brick walls...

Sometimes we come across brick walls that are holding us back. Why not take photos of them and show them to our friends? Haha.. we were driving to town yesterday and I carried my camera with me. I had my hands hanging out the window, snapping pics of some of the buildings along the main street, while freezing my husband. (It was 40 something degrees out and he was wearing a tank top and I had the window, down, haha.) Anyways, I came home, to see what was useable and what wasn't. I did a bit of editing and this is what I came up with. I actually really like it!!!

These boots...

.......are not made for walking. I love these boots, but OMG. I wouldnt' suggest walking a marathon in them. Or anything more than a few blocks at that matter. Well, honestly, they aren't that bad but I love toe wiggle room and I just don't have that in these. But I love them!!! Watch out.. more pics to come in the future, I am working on a project, we'll see if I succeed.

Love

Here is a few shots of the white daisy I got the other day that I hadn't shared yet. I have never gotten a shot like this, using the petals spelling a word. I was holding the flower, trying to come up with another creative shot and was like, hmm, and I thought of the whole "he loves, he loves me not" thing.

I am doing a daily photo challenge with a group on Myspace. I am not going to post each daily challenge, but I do want to post the ones that I consider my favorites. I got started late in the game. I didn't start till the middle of February. So I only have a couple to share so far.

My first official scrapbooking

I use to scrapbook growing up. It's was the poor mans scrapbooking, well, prolly more like before internet/computer age. Haha... I didn't have but construction paper and a photo album. I used old reciepts and photos and tickets and check stubs and cut contruction paper out to fit and glue and tape. I loved it. It doesn't look all that great. But I have my highschool years in a big scrapbook/album. I use to write in a journal everyday. It's what got me thru the day and to the next. I use to write poetry and just whatever came to mind. My poetry never made sense. It never sounded good. I just wrote. If I was troubled, I wrote. And I was okay.

When I met my husband, things turned around. I didn't need that outlet. I didn't have to escape. It's like he made everything better, slowly but surely. And over the last five years I have lost most desire to write and keep up a scrap book. That isn't bad, but it means I'm missing out on future memories for my children and grandchildren to look back on.

I've been wanting to start a journal, scrapbook for years now. I have a tote full of stuff to go through and deal with. I have ALL our wedding cards from Dec. 2004. I have every Christmas card we've ever gotten, and I always had planned on using them for a scrapbook. But doing things like that take time and quite frankly, this is the compute age. And I'm glued to this most of the time, that I'm at home and capable. Not good.. prolly why I have several extra pounds, but that isn't the point. Haha...

Anyways.. after talking to a great friend and family member, I've convinced myself to at least do something. I've started doing digital scrapbooking. I've been doing Paint Shop Pro graphics for a while. I've made myspace layouts for others and myself. I've made blinkies, and siggies for forums. I've just not had the energy or motivation to do scrapbooking. Thanks to Monica JO at A Creative Oulet I've finally gotten started with it. I have five years to go back thru and sort out. Needless to say, I will prolly only mark the biggest days of ours lives thru those five yrs. But hopefully in the future, I will mark more, using digital scrapbooking!!!

Since Valentine's Day was our last holiday, that is where I started. I will go back further, but these are the ones I started with. I want to share my first two pages of digital scrapbooking!!! (I used elements/kits found on Stacey's page along with a few others I already had.)

Valentine's Day 2009

Okay, so I'm back tracking and posting a few blogs today! I will start by posting a blog for Valentine's Day! We went to eat at Olive Garden and went to see Monster trucks. Yummy and loads of fun! I know, it's not the typical Valentine's Day for most people, but I love monster trucks. Our first date, over 5 yrs ago, was tractor pulls! Best first date ever. Haha.

Anyways, I did get some flowers, I got to pick them out this year!!! Yay!!! That makes me so happy. I can take photos of them. It gives me something besides dead grass to photograph. Here is a my favorite of the bouquet.

Photobucket

I will load up photos of each individual flower of the bouquet as the days go by. I got several photos, but I really want to spread out the love!!! LoL. So keep checking back each day to see a new photo!! I will also be adding different 'photo challenge' photos throughout as well!!!

I have a myspace page, if you would like to go and add me, it's "Kristy's Photography". I love photography and I've had a passion for it, since I can remember. You will find most of my photography that I want to share, there. I will over time add some to my blogs here. I hope you keep coming back to check them out!!!
My husband and I are happily married, living in Virginia. We dont' have any children yet, but we're currently TTC'ing. And hopefully it happens soon, niether one of us, is getting any younger. LoL.
We have two nieces and two nephews. My sister Laura, gave us a niece Dec. 5th, 2008. Her name is Cadence Willow Grace + last name. My husband's brother Justin has a daughter named Alyssa(born in 2000), and two boys named named Caleb(born 2005) and Cameron(born 2007). They are all a handful, but growing like weeds.
We have less than ten yrs left in the Navy and I can't wait for retirement. We are both so ready to move home and build a house and get some horses. I love to ride horses. It's so much fun. I have a horse. He's only 9 months old right now and he's a bit pooney, so we're working on getting him into shape. He's a bit stunted tho. I hope he grows!!! LoL. We're so excited, waiting for time to get here to move home ten yrs from now!!
Anyways, I'm stumped for now, I will have more blogs to come!!! I assure you!
